Bridgeland High School senior Shawn Ray claimed the first-place title in the networking infrastructures competition at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) national conference in Orlando, Florida, June 29-July 2.

Sept. 5, 2024—Bridgeland High School senior Shawn Ray won first place in the networking infrastructures event at the 2024 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference in Orlando, Florida, June 29-July 2.

The FBLA networking infrastructures competition requires competitors to take a timed test to demonstrate knowledge around competencies in network administration. The test itself aims to inspire members to learn about networks in today’s connected workplace.

“Shawn’s success is a testament to what a person can achieve when they are dedicated to growing their knowledge and skills,” said Thomas Mosely, Bridgeland FBLA adviser. “His success represents one of the best benefits FBLA provides, opportunity for learning and personal growth.”

Ray won first place at the FBLA Area Leadership Conference in the fall of 2023 and progressed to the FBLA Texas State Leadership Conference in the spring, winning first place. He competed against nearly 100 FBLA students from various areas across the United States at the national conference, claiming the first-place title in his competition.
