Cypress Ranch High School junior Celeste Robinson qualified for the UIL Track and Field State Meet in Austin after placing first in the 100 and 200-meter dash at the Region II-6A meet.
April 30, 2024—CFISD track and field teams will send nine boys’ entries and six girls’ entries to the UIL Track and Field State Meet, May 2-4 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. The Class 6A events will be May 4. Athletes qualified after placing in their respective events at the Region II-6A meet at Waco Midway High School and Region III-6A meet at Humble ISD’s Turner Stadium.
Cypress Park High School senior Sydnee Burr qualified for the UIL Track and Field State Meet after placing first in the long jump at the Region II-6A meet. She also placed first in the triple jump (42.06).
The following girls qualified for the Class 6A state meet:
- Cypress Ranch’s Celeste Robinson:
- placed first in Region II-6A100-meter dash (11.54); and
- placed first in Region II-6A 200-meter dash (23.39);
- Bridgeland’s Lillian Harden:
- placed first in the Region II-6A 100-meter hurdles (13.98); and
- placed second in the Region II-6A 300-meter hurdles (42.41);
- Cypress Park’s Sydnee Burr:
- placed first in the Region II-6A long jump (20-03.00); and
- first place in the Region II-6A triple jump (42-06.50);
- Cypress Ridge’s Rylee Hampton placed first in Region III-6A 100-meter hurdles (13.74).

The following boys qualified for the Class 6A state meet:
- Bridgeland’s Adin Lathrop placed first in Region II-6A 800-meter run (1:52);
- Cypress Springs’ Jacoby Harmon placed second in Region II-6A 800-meter run (1:53);
- Bridgeland’s Benjamin Montgomery:
- placed second in Region II-6A 1600-meter run (4:13); and
- placed first in Region II-6A 3200-meter run (9:06);
- Cypress Springs’ Manuel Vela placed second in the Region II-6A 3200-meter run (9:11);
- Cypress Park’s Calvion Fuller placed first Region II-6A in the 110-meter hurdles (14.20);
- Cypress Park’s Ja’Mitrius Jessie placed first in the Region II-6A triple jump (50-04.00)
- Cypress Falls' Tristan Horn placed second in the Region II-6A 300-meter hurdles (37.44);
- Jersey Village’s Landon Freeman placed first in the Region III-6A high jump (6-10.00); and
- Cy-Fair’s Khalil Hayden placed second Region III-6A in the pole vault (15-00.00).
