March 7, 2024—Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will host the District 16-6A and District 17-6A UIL One-Act play contests on March 20-21.
UIL One-Act Play is the largest high school play production contest in the world. Students present a play up to 40 minutes in length and performances are adjudicated by a panel of three certified judges.
The District 17-6A UIL One-Act Play Contest will be held at 11 a.m. on March 20 at the CFISD Visual and Performing Arts Center. District 17-6A consists of four schools from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and four schools from Spring Branch ISD.
The performance order is as follows:
- Cy-Fair High School;
- Spring Woods High School;
- Stratford High School;
- Cypress Ridge High School;
- Cypress Creek High School;
- Memorial High School;
- Jersey Village High School; and
- Northbrook High School.
The top three ranked schools will advance to the Bi-District 17/18-6A contest on March 23 at Bellaire High School.
District 16-6A One-Act Play Contest will be held at 11 a.m. on March 21 at the Berry Center.
The performance order is as follows:
- Cypress Ranch High School;
- Langham Creek High School;
- Cypress Falls High School;
- Cypress Park High School;
- Bridgeland High School;
- Cypress Lakes High School;
- Cypress Woods High School; and
- Cypress Springs High School.
The top three ranked schools will advance to the Bi-District 15/16-6A contest on April 3rd at the Berry Center.
Tickets for both events are $10 and provide all-day access to the contests. Tickets will be sold at the door.
