May 13, 2024—Eight CFISD Destination Imagination teams earned top-six victories at the Lone Star Finals Affiliate State Tournament, held April 12-13 at the University of Texas at Arlington, and advance to the Destination Imagination Global Tournament, scheduled for May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Team Rockstars from Rennell Elementary School placed second in the Pinball Heroes challenge at the Lone Star Finals Affiliate State Tournament, held April 12-13 at the University of Texas at Arlington. The team is advancing to the Global Tournament, scheduled for May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The team is advancing to the Global Tournament, scheduled for May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.  

Destination Imagination promotes team-building for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who form teams of up to seven students to solve a challenge that incorporates imagination, creativity, collaboration and fun. Teams create a skit with props and scenery that involve one of the following categories: Fine Arts, STEM, Project Outreach and Improvisation. Teams place based on their solution to the team challenge, along with their solution to an instant challenge they receive on the day of specific tournaments.

Team The All-Stars from Smith Middle School placed sixth in the Going the Distance challenge at the Lone Star Finals Affiliate State Tournament, held April 12-13 at the University of Texas at Arlington. The team is advancing to the Global Tournament, scheduled for May 22-25 in Kansas City, Missouri.

  • Team Imagine Moore from Moore Elementary School placed fifth in Pinball Heroes;
  • Team Rockstars from Rennell Elementary School placed second in Pinball Heroes;
  • Team Fire Breaking Hamsters from Swenke Elementary School placed first in Pinball Heroes;
  • Team Stellar Squad from Warner Elementary School placed third in Blast from the Past;
  • Team Ideas R Us from Warner placed fifth in Going the Distance;
  • Team The Athenas from Sprague Middle School placed fourth in Blast from the Past;
  • Team Mystic Minds from Bridgeland High School placed fifth in Blast from the Past; and
  • Team The All-Stars from Smith Middle School placed sixth in Going the Distance.
